Measure the distance between the sides walls of the desk or between cabinets file. Measure the width, and cut that amount in half. The sliding shelf must not be as wide as the desktop. Find the drawer slides you will use. This will be the length of the piece of wood you need, minus the thickness of the drawer slide on each side.
Make marks on the file cabinet drawers, or sides of the desktop. To determine where comfort is the desk keyboard tray, sit in the chair in front of your desk, and place your hands and arms in the position which will be convenient for you to write. Fix the draw slide assembly on each side of the desk where you have made your selections. Be sure to attach the front of the guide at the edge of the counter front.
Attach the second part of the draw slide to the piece of laminated wood. Secure screws with the screwdriver on both sides of the laminate piece of wood. Place the shelf in the wall slides and secure as directed for the special drawing slides to use.
