Bicycle Road Racing

Road racing a term used to refer to different types of motor racing that take places place on paved and purpose built race tracks. Road racing is however a term used to describe another type of races and those are the cycling races. Those who are passionate about this sport would know more about cycling in general but this article is aimed at both those who want to find out more interesting information about their favorite sport and those who are getting a grasp of what cycling means.

Cycling is becoming more and more popular all over the world. Children can choose to practice this sport in its various forms from quite a young age in most countries in the world. The sport is in particular popular in Western Europe where cycling is more than a sport, it is a way of life. As one might have guessed the biggest cycling races are also held in Europe and some of the most popular are Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and La Vuelta d’Espagna. These races are followed by thousands of enthusiasts all over the world as they are a big thing on TV but also many individuals go in the country where the tour is held just to see their favorite cyclists. These races are held for professionals and they cannot be missed by anyone who loves cycling or sports in general as they are always unpredictable.

Lower level races are however helping in each country for individuals who hope becoming professionals at some point in their lives. Cycling is in particular popular in the Netherlands where individuals can subscribe to non-professional clubs and make their way up into the cycling categories. Cycling is however increasing in popularity in other countries all over the world and more and more people start practicing it, although not at a professional level.
